Tucked into a handsome brick townhouse on the Vrolikstraat, my inn is a lovingly furnished 1920s-style B&B in the heart of Amsterdam Oost, a real neighbourhood of bakeries, cafés and tree-lined streets, with Oosterpark just two minutes from the door.
Every room is full of colour and personality, with thoughtful touches throughout: three bicycles included in the price, air conditioning, high-speed Wi-Fi, a washer-dryer and a 4K TV. Your host is Jan, a philosophy teacher, musician and Superhost of nine years. He shares the house with Beauty, the resident cat.

The location is perfect for exploring the city - close to the metro and trams so getting anywhere was super easy. We also used the bikes as well. There are some lovely shops and restaurants within easy walking distance if you do not want to venture far after a day of sight seeing. The apartment felt very safe as a Mum travelling with her daughter - and the room locked for privacy too. Would definitely recommend without hesitation!"

"Jan's place is exactly as advertised. Our room was very comfortable and clean. The large windows bring in a lot of light and make it a lovely space. Everything was well-organized for our stay. Jan is an excellent host. He gave us a lot of privacy but was always available to chat and full of good advice to explore Amsterdam. His place is in a cute neighborhood close to the metro and the trams. We found several good places to eat nearby and a grocery store right at the metro station. We would stay here again."

Beauty, the resident cat
Sorry, I seem to have double booked! Beauty has a reservation for the entire year, but I think we can work something out: she gets the radiator, you get the rest of the room. Deal?
Gentle but particular: she loves a scratch on the head, but isn’t one for being picked up or petted along the body. If you hear meowing or scratching at the guestroom door late at night, that’s Beauty asking to be let in — not me! Do say hello if you see her; she rather expects it.
